The grow philosophy

Cannabis quality is decided long before the bud is in the jar. It's decided by genetics — which mother you keep and which you cull. It's decided by environment — how steady you can hold a room at 75°F and 55% RH while the lights are pulling every electron the genetics can use. And it's decided by patience — letting the plant finish on its own clock, drying slow, curing longer.

Small batches, by choice

We could grow more. We choose not to. Volume is a tradeoff against attention. Our team would rather hand-trim 40 pounds that hit the terpene targets than machine-trim 400 that don't. The drops sell out. We're fine with that.

Pheno-hunting

When we run a new cross, we pop dozens of seeds. We grow them all. We evaluate each phenotype across structure, yield, terpene profile, smoke quality, and how it holds up through cure. We keep one or two. The rest we don't. Native Cuts is the brand we use for the absolute standouts — the kind of expression you can't recreate by reordering seed. See our full strains glossary for the terminology behind this work.

Grow questions

01

Where does Waabigwan Mashkiki cannabis come from?

All Waabigwan Mashkiki flagship flower is grown indoor on the White Earth Reservation in Mahnomen, Minnesota — the same sovereign land our nation has stewarded for generations. The grow operates under tribal regulatory oversight and METRC seed-to-sale tracking.
02

How is Waabigwan Mashkiki cannabis grown?

Indoor, small-batch cultivation with controlled environments — temperature, humidity, light spectrum, and CO₂ tuned per strain. We pheno-hunt our genetics, meaning we evaluate dozens of seedlings from each cross and select only the standout phenotypes for production runs. The trade-off: less volume, more terpene density and consistency.
03

What is METRC and why does it matter?

METRC is the seed-to-sale tracking system used by cannabis regulators across the US. Every plant in our facility carries an RFID tag from clone or seed through harvest, processing, packaging, and final sale. The chain of custody is unbroken and auditable. The Tribal Regulatory Agency reviews it.
04

Is Waabigwan Mashkiki cannabis lab-tested?

Yes. Every batch is third-party tested for cannabinoid potency (THC, CBD, minor cannabinoids), terpene profile, microbial contamination, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and residual solvents. Results are documented and available on request.
